Amber Wellman is the Chief Sustainability Officer for Chemours, where she leads the company’s continued effort to achieve its Corporate Responsibility Commitment goals and deepen its commitment to sustainability. An analytical chemist by training, she plays a central role in forging strategic collaborations and partnerships with external experts, companies, industries, and organizations to advance Chemours’ sustainability efforts and advocate for sustainable, science-based policy and regulation.

She has spent over 15 years of her career innovating in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Since joining Chemours, she has held several positions across analytical labs, manufacturing technology, research and development, and the Advanced Performance Materials (APM) segment. As Sustainability Director for APM, she was instrumental in incorporating sustainability into all levels of business strategy development, decision-making, and operations.

Amber serves on the Board of Directors of the Wildlife Habitat Council, as the Chemours liaison delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and is a member of the ACC Sustainability Strategy Committee. She earned a B.S. in Chemistry from The University of Virginia’s College at Wise and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from The University of Tennessee.

Amber is married with an 11-year-old son that keeps her busy with sports year-round. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
